June Directors Insights

“Out Of The Woods”

The last month for G&M has been testing.

As a long-established family business, it was scary to think we could be undone by something out of our control. The relationships we have with our team, suppliers, builders, designers and most importantly our clients were all a blessing to us to the point we had no real downturn at all.

My father taught me that when the times get tough, loyalty is important and this was one of the biggest helps in these times. We found that our clients wanted more communication and contact more than ever before. This helps with establishing confidence and safety that there project and investment is in good hands and it’s business as usual.

Constant updates from our suppliers kept us well informed of any shortage (if any) of supplies we need to progress or complete our projects. It was also important to have the team know they had full support and security for them and their family whilst the unknown was unfolding.

My job as the Director and leader of the business was to ensure that no matter what happened they were going to be taken care of so they can concentrate on the work at hand.

Our builders and designers have shown no signs of slowing down with the level of market we produce work for. This has been a big help with security of work for G&M. It has been critical in these times that we have stuck to our niche as this area of the building industry has not felt many affects at all.

In review we feel blessed that we have been able to offer the help and support to those who have needed it through these times and look forward to finishing 2020 with confidence. We wish the best on those who have been affected and we fully support our local Sunshine Coast community to bounce back better than ever. Now the storm has passed we look forward to getting out and seeing our existing and new clients more for the personal touch we pride ourselves on.
